Dreams, bullpen stressing me out

Last night I dreamed I was sent out to Turner Field in the middle of a Braves game, having seen not one minute of spring training and told to come up with something to write, ready to turn in at the end of the game.

Oy.

I used to have the old recurring stress-out dream in my beat-writing days. But now? Here I am the back-up beat writer in the middle of January. I'm dreaming this the night before I'm supposed to write one lousy fill-in blog for DOB?

Such high standards you see, for the Braves/Man in Black. Or so sayeth my subconscious.

Let me back up for a second. For those not reading carefully it's CARROLL again - hey! Wassup? Long time! - and I'm feeling a little out of it after submersing myself in hockey (hockey?) and a little Hawks and Falcons for the last three months.

Pink and husband Carey Hart call it quits after two years

To whom it may concern, who gives a flying F#@K about some person who has no talent. She was "going steady" to put it in American terms, this is what Americans do, hence why this paper is tabloid trash. I say shut it down.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Kimora Preggers? Bottle Hits Pitbull! Timbaland ...

Damn! What is the hell is going on? I heard about 2,500 people packed club PLANETA in San Antonio, TX to see the one and only Pitbull. After the rapper gets about two songs into his concert, a bottle zips out from the crowd and busts Pitbull on the side of the head! The bottle didn't crack, but it did break the skin and Pitbull bled. A nurse taped him up and he kept performing for one song. There would be no full concert due to the bleeding. He was eventually taken away by the paramedics to get eight staples in his head. Pitbull told the crowd that said his fans pay his bills and he wasn't going let one hater spoil it for them. I heard roughly 80% of those I attendance were females. Foul!

Market Insider/Thursday Look Ahead

Will stocks get a Bernanke bounce? That's certainly what some traders are hoping for ahead of Fed Chairman Ben Bernake's testimony before the Senate Banking committee Thursday. But of course, there's always the chance his comments could bring on a Valentine's Day massacre.

Bernanke appears along with Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson and SEC Chairman Christopher Cox at the 10 a.m. hearing, which promises to be the highlight of what could be a very busy day in the markets. Their topic is the financial markets and the economy.

Some important earnings are on the calendar - including UBS and Commerzbank. Also reporting are Comcast .

Company turns to Danforth plant center to develop a 'green' plastic

Imagine an oilseed, not part of the food chain, that can produce biodegradable plastic and improve the economics of making biodiesel.

That is the vision of scientists at Cambridge, Mass.-based Metabolix Inc. and their research partners at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center in Creve Coeur.

If it pans out, the result could be a green-green, win-win-win for Missouri's economy, Metabolix and the environment, say the partners and state economic development officials.

"It's exactly what the civic leadership in St. Louis has been positioning St. Louis and the state to become," said Rob Monsees, executive director of the Missouri Technology Corp., which gave a $1.14 million state grant to the project. "Metabolix is hopefully the first of many examples of plant biotechnology companies that are going to be finding their way to Missouri." .

Musharraf, who will meet with several European leaders during his eight-day visit, said it was important for the west to understand that it has a reliable ally in Pakistan. Speaking to reporters, he said he expects from EU leaders understanding for his country's predicament and stressed that, in return, they can expect Pakistan to stay the course on democracy and the rule of law. He acknowledged that 2007 had been an extremely ''turbulent'' year for Pakistan but underlined that the country's nuclear arms remained safely in the hands of the military establishment. ''There is no chance at all of our nuclear assets falling into the wrong hands,'' he said. Musharraf will meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and other European leaders. He will also visit the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

China tops India again

Practically nothing comes to mind.On the contrary India multinationals keep investing in their brands This difference is seen in every industry one can name under the sun. Secondly Indians are more Globalised than the Chineese. They can assimilate into an environment much easier than the Chinese do. English is one major reason but the most important is the natural instincts emerging out of living in the most diverse country on the face of the planet. Now Indias caste system problem is something everyone acknowledges,in India we freely debate and discus s it, but nothing close to that sort happens in China. No Indian Government will ever dare to run tanks on protesting Indian youths.Does anyone know the level of suppression in China.. No one would ever Know ..Why.. Because there is nothing called a free press.

Brown feels heat as Libdems and Tories seek answer to West Lothian ...

Devloution, as some said at the time, is inherently unstable.

I think we will see plenty of patch up jobs (like on the West lothian question) for a while yet until people get a chance to vote on independence.

And if the SNP perform well over the next few years and time it right then it will be a case of ........ "they think its all over, well it is now".
